Youthfulness Gained in Vajra-like Immortality
An Authentic Request to Support the Longevity of Sublime Beings
ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ། སྐུ་མཆོག་འགྱུར་མེད་རྣམ་སྣང་ཚེ་ཡི་རྒྱལ། །
om ah hum, ku chok gyurmé namnang tsé yi gyel
Oṃ āḥ hūṃ! Supreme wisdom form, unchanging, is Vairocana, longevity king;
གསུང་མཆོག་འགག་མེད་པདྨ་ཚེ་ཡི་བདག །
sung chok gakmé pema tsé yi dak
supreme wisdom speech, unceasing, is the lotus lord of life;
ཐུགས་མཆོག་འཁྲུལ་མེད་མི་བསྐྱོད་ཚེ་མཐའ་ཡས། །
tuk chok trülmé mikyö tsé tayé
supreme wisdom heart, unerring, is Akṣobhya of endless life;
ཡོན་ཏན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཐོགས་མེད་པའི། །
yönten lhündrup trinlé tokmé pé
together with those of spontaneous qualities and unhindered activity,
རཏྣ་ཀརྨ་ཚེ་ཡི་ལྷ་ཚོགས་རྣམས། །
ratna karma tsé yi lhatsok nam
the hosts of long-life deities from the ratna and karma families–
བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ཚེ་བརྟན་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
lamé kutsé tenpar jin gyi lop
grant your blessings, all, so the guru’s longevity is ensured!
ༀ་ཨ་མཱ་ར་ཎི་ཛཱི་བནྟི་ཡེ་སྭཱཧཱ།
om amarani jivantayé soha
གནས་མཆོག་རྣམ་དག་འཆི་མེད་རྟག་པའི་ཞིང༌། །
né chok namdak chimé takpé zhing
In the supreme place, utterly pure, a realm of deathlessness and eternity,
འཇིགས་བྲལ་སེང་གེས་བཏེགས་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཁྲིར། །
jikdrel sengé tekpé dorjé trir
is a vajra throne supported by the lions of fearlessness,
རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད། །
tsawé lama orgyen tsepakmé
upon which the root guru appears in the form of Uddiyana Amitābha (Boundless Life),
སྐུ་ཡི་འོད་ཀྱིས་འཁོར་འདས་ཚེ་བཅུད་བསྡུས། །
ku yi ö kyi khordé tsechü dü
drawing in the vital nectar of samsara and nirvana with light from his body.
རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་དང་བཅས་པས་ཚེ་དབང་བསྐུར། །
gyelwa sé dang chepé tsewang kur
May the victorious ones and their heirs grant the long-life empowerment,
འཇའ་ལུས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ་རུ་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །
jalü dorjé ku ru drupar shok
so that you gain accomplishment in the rainbow body's indestructible form!
ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སིདྡྷི་ཨཱ་ཡུ་ཥེ་ཧཱུྃ་བྷྲཱུྃ་ནྲྀ་ཛཿསརྦ་སིདྡྷི་ཕ་ལ་ཧཱུྃ་ཨཱཿ
om ah hum benza guru pema siddhi ayukhé hum nri dza sarva siddhi pala hum ah
བདག་ཉིད་དཔལ་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་གཞོན་ནུའི་སྐུ། །
dak nyi pelchen dorjé zhönü ku
I appear in the form of the awesome heruka, Vajrakumāra,
སྐུ་ལས་སྲས་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་པ་གྲངས་མེད་འཕྲོས། །
ku lé sé chok trülpa drangmé trö
and from my body I send out countless Supreme Son emanations,
བར་ཆད་དགྲ་བགེགས་ཐམས་ཅད་མྱུར་དུ་བསྒྲལ། །
barché dragek tamché nyurdu drel
who swiftly liberate all obstacles, enemies, and hindrances to the guru’s life.
བླ་མའི་སྐུ་དགྲ་བསྒྲལ་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱིས། །
lamé ku dra drelwé sönam kyi
Through the merit of liberating all who are hostile to the guru's form,
བདག་ཀྱང་བར་ཆད་བདུད་ཀྱི་གཡུལ་ལས་རྒྱལ། །
dak kyang barché dü kyi yül lé gyel
may I too be victorious over the legions of demonic obstacles
བཤད་སྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་སྒྲེང་བར་ཤོག །
shedrup tenpé gyeltsen drengwar shok
and raise the victory banner of the Dharma through teaching and practice!
ༀ་བཛྲ་ཀཱི་ལི་ཀཱི་ལ་ཡ་སརྦ་བིགྷྣན་བཾ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ།
om benza kili kilaya sarva bighanen bam hum pé
རྗེ་བཙུན་སྒྲོལ་མ་མདུན་གྱི་ནམ་མཁར་བྱོན། །
jetsün drölma dün gyi namkhar jön
Ārya Tārā appears in the sky before me,
ཨུཏྤལ་དཔལ་བེའུ་ཉི་མ་འཆར་ཀའི་འོད། །
utpal palbeu nyima charké ö
the light of dawn streaming out from the utpala and the endless knot she holds.
བདག་ཅག་དཔོན་སློབ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕོག་པ་ཡིས། །
dakchak pönlop nam la pokpa yi
As the light falls upon master and students simultaneously,
འདོད་པའི་དོན་རྣམས་ཐམས་ཅད་མྱུར་དུ་འགྲུབ། །
döpé dön nam tamché nyurdu drup
may all our aims and wishes be swiftly fulfilled,
འཆི་བ་མེད་པ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྲོག་ཐོབ་ནས། །
chiwa mepa dorjé sok top né
and, gaining the indestructible force of deathless life,
སངས་རྒྱས་བསྟན་པ་ཡུན་རིང་འཛིན་པ་དང༌། །
sangyé tenpa yün ring dzinpa dang
may we always uphold the teachings of the Buddha,
འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕན་བདེ་སྤེལ་བར་ཤོག །
drowa nam la pendé pelwar shok
and bring ever greater benefit and happiness to all beings!
ༀ་ཏཱ་རེ་ཏུཏྟཱ་རེ་ཏུ་རེ་སརྦ་ཨརྠ་སིདྡྷི་སིདྡྷི་ཀུ་རུ་སྭཱཧཱ།
om taré tutaré turé sarva arta siddhi siddhi kuru soha
ཞེས་པ་འདི་ནི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཞྭ་དམར་ནག་སོགས་བསྟན་འཛིན་སྐྱེས་ཆེན་དག་གི་འདྲེན་མཆོག་ཐམས་ཅད་ཞབས་པད་བརྟན་ཅིང༌། འཇམ་མགོན་བླ་མས་བདག་ཕ་བུ་བླ་ཕུར་སྦྲགས་མ་ཞིག་ཉམས་སུ་ལེན་དགོས་གསུངས་པས། འཕྲལ་མཁོ་གྲྭ་ཚང་གི་འདོན་རྒྱུར་བྲི་འདུན་ཡོད་པའི་ཞོལ། ༧སྐྱབས་མགོན་སི་ཏུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དཔོན་སློབ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བླ་མའི་ཐུགས་སྒྲུབ་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུའི་སྒོ་ནས་ཡུན་འཚོའི་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་གནང་བའི་ཡ་མཚན་མཆོག་ཏུ་གྱུར་པའི་སྐབས་སུ། བདག་གིས་ཀྱང་སྐྱེལ་ལེན་གྱི་ཚུལ་དུ་ཞབས་བརྟན་དུ་ཕུལ་བ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག། །།
This was written for the long life of all supreme guides—those great beings, such as the Red and Black Hat lords of refuge, who uphold the teachings—and because the Jamgön Lama (Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Tayé) said that we, father and son, should have a practice that combines Guru and Kīlaya. More immediately, I had a wish to write something for the monks to chant, and, when the lord of refuge, Situ Rinpoché, together with his disciples, created the most wondrous circumstances for my longevity through the practice of Lamé Tukdrup Yizhin Norbu (The Wishfulfilling Jewel Guru Heart Practice), I offered this as a long-life practice in response. May it be beneficial!
༈ རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་སྤྱི་བོའི་ནམ་མཁར་བྱོན། །
dorjé sempa chiwö namkar jön
Vajrasattva appears in the sky above my head.
ཐུགས་ལས་བདུད་རྩིའི་འོད་ཟེར་རྣམ་པ་འཕྲོས། །
tuk lé dütsi özer nampa trö
Amrita radiates out from his heart in the form of light rays,
བདག་ཅག་མཆེད་ལྕམ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕོག་པ་ཡིས། །
dakchak chécham namla pokpa yi
striking myself and my vajra siblings.
དམ་ཚིག་འགལ་ཉམས་རལ་འདས་ཐམས་ཅད་དག །
damtsik gel nyam rel dé tamché dak
It purifies all our broken, impaired, damaged, and transgressed samayas,
མཆོག་ཐུན་དངོས་གྲུབ་མཐའ་དག་མངོན་དུ་གྱུར། །
choktün ngödrup tadak ngöndu gyur
and all supreme and common siddhis are actualized.
བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ཚེ་བརྟན་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་། །
lamé kutsé tenpar gyurwa dang
May the guru’s longevity be ensured,
གསང་སྔགས་བསྟན་པ་མི་ནུབ་རྒྱས་པར་ཤོག །
sang ngak tenpa mi nup gyépar shok
and the teachings of Secret Mantra flourish unabatedly!
ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཧཱུྃ།
om benza sato hum
oṃ vajrasattva hūṃ
ཅེས་སྤྲེལ་ལོ་ཟླ་བ་༦ ཚེས་༡༠ ཉིན། གནས་མཆོག་འབྲུག་བུམ་ཐང་གི་ཉེ་འདབས་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཀློང་ཆེན་པའི་གདན་ས་ཐར་པའི་གླིང་དུ་ཐུགས་སྒྲུབ་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་སྒྲུབ་ཆེན་ཉིན་མཐའ་མ། ཐོ་རངས་དངོས་གྲུབ་ལེན་ཆོག་སྐབས་དེ་ལྟར་གསོལ་བ་རྩེ་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདེབས་པ་པོ་ཚང་རིགས་སུ་གཏོགས་པ་མཆོག་གཏེར་བརྒྱུད་འཛིན་ཐ་ཤལ་བ་འཕགས་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་མིང་པས་སོ།། །།
On the tenth day of the sixth month of the Monkey Year, the one named Phakchok Tulku, a lowly holder of the Chokling Tersar lineage from the Tsang clan, one-pointedly supplicated in this way when receiving the siddhis at dawn on the last day of the great accomplishment (drupchen) combining the two Guru’s Heart Practices (Tukdrup), which was held in the supreme site of Tarpaling, the seat of the omniscient Longchenpa, in the vicinity of Bumtang in Bhutan.

༈ སྐུ་མི་འགྱུར་རྡོ་རྗེའི་གདན་ལ་བཞུགས་སུ་གསོལ། །
ku mingyur dorjé den la zhuk su söl
May your enlightened body dwell, unchanging and adamantine like the vajra.
གསུང་མི་འགག་ཚངས་དབྱངས་ལྟ་བུར་གསུང་དུ་གསོལ། །
sung mingak tsang yang tabur sung du söl
May your enlightened speech sound out, unceasing, like the voice of Brahmā.
ཐུགས་མི་གཡོ་ཀ་དག་ཆེན་པོར་བཞུགས་སུ་གསོལ། །
tuk mi yo kadak chenpor zhuk su söl
May your enlightened mind rest, unmoving, within the vast primordial purity.
བདེ་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ངོ་བོར་བཞུགས་སུ་གསོལ།
dechen dorjé ngowor zhuk su söl
May you remain forever in the state of indestructible great bliss!
༈ བླ་མ་སྐུ་ཁམས་བཟང་བར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
lama kukham zangwar sölwa dep
I pray that the gurus may be healthy,
མཆོག་ཏུ་སྐུ་ཚེ་རིང་བར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
chok tu kutsé ringwar sölwa dep
that they may always live long,
ཕྲིན་ལས་དར་ཞིང་རྒྱས་པར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
trinlé dar zhing gyepar sölwa dep
and that their activity spreads and flourishes.
བླ་མ་དང་འབྲལ་བ་མེད་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས།
lama dang drelwa mepar chingyi lop
Bless me, that I may never be parted from the gurus!
༈ དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ཚེ་བརྟན་པ་དང་། །
pelden lamé kutsé tenpa dang
May the glorious gurus’ longevity be ensured!
མཁའ་མཉམ་ཡོངས་ལ་བདེ་སྐྱིད་འབྱུང་བ་དང་། །
khanyam yong la dekyi jungwa dang
May all beings, infinite as space, have happiness
བདག་གཞན་མ་ལུས་ཚོགས་བསགས་སྒྲིབ་བྱང་ནས། །
dakzhen malü tsok sak drip jang né
and, by gathering the accumulations and purifying the obscurations,
མྱུར་དུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ས་ལ་འགོད་པར་ཤོག
nyurdu sangyé sa la göpar shok
may I and all others be swiftly established on the level of buddhahood!
༈ དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་རྣམ་པར་ཐར་པ་ལ། །
pelden lamé nampar tarpa la
Regarding the liberating life-stories of our glorious gurus,
སྐད་ཅིག་ཙམ་ཡང་ལོག་ལྟ་མི་སྐྱེ་ཞིང་། །
kechik tsam yang lokta mi kyé zhing
may we never entertain a single moment of wrong view!
ཅི་མཛད་ལེགས་པར་མཐོང་བའི་མོས་གུས་ཀྱིས། །
chi dzé lekpar tongwé mögü kyi
Whatever they do, may we see it as excellent, and through such devotion,
བླ་མའི་བྱིན་རླབས་སེམས་ལ་འཇུག་པར་ཤོག །
lamé jinlap sem la jukpar shok
may the gurus’ blessings enter our minds!
༈ སྐྱེ་བ་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཡང་དག་བླ་མ་དང་། །
kyewa küntu yangdak lama dang
Through all my births may I not be separated from the perfect guru,
འབྲལ་མེད་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དཔལ་ལ་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་། །
drelmé chö kyi pel la longchö ching
and so may I enjoy the splendor of Dharma!
ས་དང་ལམ་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་རབ་རྫོགས་ནས། །
sa dang lam gyi yönten rapdzok né
Perfecting the virtues of the paths and bhūmis,
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་གོ་འཕང་མྱུར་ཐོབ་ཤོག །
pelden lamé gopang nyur top shok
may I speedily attain the state of the glorious teacher!
