༄༅། །ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་པདྨ་གཙུག་གཏོར་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་ལྟུང་བཤགས་བཞུགས་སོ། །
The Confession of Downfalls from the Great Compassionate One’s Lotus Uṣṇīṣa1
ན་མོ། བདག་དང་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་དུས་རྟག་ཏུ༔
namo, dak dang semchen tamché dü takdu༔
Namo, I and all beings pay homage always༔
སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་དང་དགེ་འདུན་འདུས་པའི་གཙོ༔
sangyé chö dang gendün düpé tso༔
to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.༔
དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་དགྲ་བཅོམ་ཡང་དག་པ༔
dezhin shekpa drachom yangdakpa༔
We pay homage to the chief of them all,༔
རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་མཉམ་མེད་ཤཱཀྱའི་རྒྱལ༔
dzokpé sangyé nyamé shakyé gyel༔
the thus-gone, worthy, genuine, and perfectly awakened one: the peerless Śākya King.༔
རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོ་རབ་འཇོམས་རིན་ཆེན་འོད༔
dorjé nyingpo rapjom rinchen ö༔
We pay homage to Vajra Conqueror, to Blazing Jewel,༔
ཀླུ་དབང་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔའ་བོ་སྡེ་བྱིན་རྒྱལ༔
luwang gyelpo pawo dejin gyel༔
to Sovereign King of Nāgas, to Leader of the Warriors, to Heroic Sound, to King of Generosity,2༔
རིན་ཆེན་མེ་དང་ཟླ་འོད་མཐོང་དོན་ཡོད༔
rinchen mé dang da’ö tong dön yö༔
to Blazing Jewel, to Moonlight, to Unerring Vision,༔
རིན་ཆེན་ཟླ་བ་དྲི་མེད་དཔལ་གྱི་སྦྱིན༔
rinchen dawa drimé pel gyi jin༔
to Jewel Moon, to Stainless One, to Gift of a Hero,༔
ཚངས་པ་ཚངས་བྱིན་ཆུ་ལྷ་ཆུ་ཡི་ལྷ༔
tsangpa tsangjin chulha chuyi lha༔
to Pure One, to Gift of Purity, to Water Deity, to God of the Water Deities,༔
དཔལ་བཟང་ཙན་དན་དཔལ་དང་གཟི་བརྗིད་ནི༔
pelzang tsenden pel dang ziji ni༔
to Glorious Goodness, to Glorious Sandalwood, to Infinite Vitality,༔
མཐའ་ཡས་འོད་མཆོག་མཐའ་ཡས་མྱ་ངན་མེད༔
tayé öchok tayé nyangen mé༔
to Infinite Splendor,3 to One Without Sorrow,4༔
སྲེད་མེད་བུ་དང་མེ་ཏོག་དཔལ་ཚངས་པའི༔
sémé bu dang metok pel tsangpé༔
to Son of No Craving, to Glorious Flowers,༔
འོད་ཟེར་རྣམ་པར་རོལ་པ་མངོན་མཁྱེན་པ༔
özer nampar rölpa ngön khyenpa༔
to Splendor of Brahma Miraculous Insight,༔
པདྨའི་འོད་ཟེར་རྣམ་རོལ་མངོན་མཁྱེན་པ༔
pemé özer namröl ngön khyenpa༔
to Splendorous Lotus Miraculous Insight,༔
ནོར་དཔལ་དྲན་པའི་དཔལ་མཆོག་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས༔
norpel drenpé pelchok dezhin shek༔
to the supreme thus-gone ones Glorious Wealth and Glorious Mindfulness,༔
མཚན་དཔལ་ཡོངས་གྲགས་དབང་པོ་ཏོག་རྒྱལ་མཚན༔
tsenpel yongdrak wangpo tok gyeltsen༔
to Renowned and Glorious One, to King Indra’s Banner,༔
ཤིན་ཏུ་རྣམ་གནོན་གཡུལ་ལས་ཤིན་ཏུ་རྒྱལ༔
shindu namnön yül lé shindu gyel༔
to Glorious Hero, to Perfect Victor in Battle,༔
རྣམ་གནོན་གཤེགས་པ་ཀུན་སྣང་བཀོད་པའི་རྒྱལ༔
namnön shekpa künang köpé gyel༔
to Transcendent Victory, to King of the Array of Eternal Splendor,5༔
རིན་ཆེན་པདྨོ་རྣམ་པར་གནོན་པའི་དཔལ༔
rinchen pemo nampar nönpé pel༔
to Courageous Lotus Jewel, and༔
པདྨ་ལ་ནི་རབ་བཞུགས་རི་དབང་རྒྱལ༔
pema lani rapzhuk riwang gyel༔
to Lotus Jewel Steadfast like the King of Mountains–༔
དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ༔
dezhin shekpa namla chaktsel lo༔
to all these thus-gone ones, we pay homage!༔
འཚོ་ཞིང་གཞེས་རྣམས་བདག་ལ་དགོངས་སུ་གསོལ༔
tso zhing zhénam dakla gong su söl༔
May all you buddhas present here please pay attention to me!༔
བདག་གི་སྐྱེ་བ་ཐོག་མ་གཞན་སྐྱེས་ནས༔
dak gi kyewa tokma zhen kyené༔
Throughout all my lifetimes, births without beginning,༔
མཚམས་མེད་མི་དགེ་བཅུ་བགྱིས་དཀོར་འཕྲོག་པ༔
tsamé migé chugyi kor trokpa༔
whatever misdeeds—inexpiable wrongs, ten non-virtues, or stealing the sangha’s property—༔
བགྱིས་དང་བགྱིད་སྩལ་ཡི་རངས་བདག་གིས་བཤགས༔
gyi dang gyi tsel yirang dak gi shak༔
that I have committed, made others commit, or rejoiced in, I confess.༔
བདག་ནི་ངན་སོང་གསུམ་དུ་སྐྱེ་ངན་པར༔
dak ni ngensong sum du kyé ngenpar༔
All actions that cause wretched rebirths in the three lower realms༔
སངས་རྒྱས་འབྱུང་བར་ལྡོག་པའི་ལས་བྱས་པ༔
sangyé jungwar dokpé lé chepa༔
and prevent the buddhas from appearing–༔
ཡེ་ཤེས་སྤྱན་ལྡན་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་སྔར་བཤགས༔
yeshé chenden khyé kyi chen ngar shak༔
in your presence, before your wisdom eyes, I hereby confess༔
མི་འཆབ་མི་སྦེད་གཅོད་ཅིང་སྡོམ་པར་བྱ༔
mi chap mi bé chö ching dompar ja༔
in full disclosure, and resolve to refrain from them henceforth!༔
སྐྱེ་བ་དུ་མར་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་སྦྱིན་ཤེས་རབ༔
kyewa dumar tsültrim jin sherap༔
All the virtue accumulated in my many lives—through discipline,༔
བཟོད་བསམ་བརྩོན་འགྲུས་དགེ་ཚོགས་ཅི་བགྱིས་པ༔
zö sam tsöndru getsok chi gyipa༔
generosity, wisdom, patience, meditation, and diligence—༔
བསོད་ནམས་མྱུར་སྨིན་བདེ་ཉིད་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག༔
sönam nyurmin denyi topar shok༔
may this merit ripen swiftly so we attain true bliss!༔

At the end, say:
བསོད་ནམས་གྲངས་མེད་འགྲོ་བའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་བསྔོ༔
sönam drangmé drowé gyüla ngo༔
This merit I now dedicate to beings beyond number:༔
ཇི་ལྟར་དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བས་བསྔོས་བཞིན་ཤོག༔
jitar düsum gyalwé ngözhin shok༔
may it be dedicated just as the buddhas of the three times do!༔
སྡིག་བཤགས་བསོད་ནམས་ཀུན་ལ་རྗེས་ཡི་རངས༔
dikshak sönam kün la jé yirang༔
I confess misdeeds and rejoice in all merit.༔
ཆོས་འཁོར་བསྐོར་བསྐུལ་མྱ་ངན་མི་འདའ་ཞིང་༔
chökhor korkül nyangen mida zhing༔
Please, turn the wheel of Dharma and do not pass into nirvana,༔
བཞུགས་སུ་གསོལ་འདེབས་བདག་སོགས་འགྲོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས༔
zhuk su söldep dak sok dronam kyi༔
but remain with us here! May I and may all beings༔
བསོད་ནམས་ཡེ་ཤེས་མྱུར་དུ་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག༔
sönam yeshé nyurdu topar shok༔
swiftly attain both merit and wisdom!༔
