all be born the very instant we depart this life.

Once there, taking the special path of the four vidyādhara stages,

may we swiftly attain the level of the Lake Born Guru,

who embodies oceans of kāyas and wisdoms,

and spontaneously fulfill the benefit of ourselves and others!

Chariot of the Vidyādharas

Author:

Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo

Description:

An aspiration prayer to travel to Guru Rinpoche's pureland, the realm of Lotus Light, composed by Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo.

Further Information and Resources:

This poetic prayer relates the Lotus Light (padma 'od) pure realm of Guru Padmasambhava to the four visions of Dzokchen practice. It aspires that we may all be reborn there so as to advance through the four stages of a vidyādhara and swiftly reach the level of the Lake-Born Guru himself.

Lotus Treasure - a recording of Kyapjé Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche's consort, Künzang Dechen, reciting this prayer with its beautiful melody (Rinchen Trengwa, track 56).

An article about this prayer, by Erik Pema Kunsang, including a metric translation that can be sung to melody.

The latest version of this prayer can be found on Lotsawa House.
